New World Screwworm has not been detected in Georgia, but livestock and pet owners should remain vigilant following a recent detection in Zavala County, TX.

Monitor animals for signs of infestation, including non-healing wounds, unusual discharge, or maggots in wounds.

Suspected cases should be reported immediately to the Georgia Department of Agriculture's Animal Health Division at 404-656-3667 or [email protected].

We are excited to announce that Kelley Owen is our new Executive Vice President!

Kelley joins the Georgia Cattlemen’s Association team from the Georgia National Fairgrounds & Agricenter, where he directed Agricultural and Youth Livestock programs. His roots in Georgia ag run deep, and he is no stranger to cattle production, as his family runs a purebred Charolais operation.

We can’t wait to see the work he does as EVP, leading the Georgia Cattlemen's Association, the Georgia Beef Board, and the Georgia Cattlemen's Association Foundation.

We know so many of you are familiar with Kelley, and we look forward to sharing more about him in the coming weeks!

Thank you so much, Debra, for the kind words and support. I’ll be sure to share your message with our incredible 150+ volunteers, rodeo chairmen, and the CCCA Board of Directors who worked tirelessly to make this rodeo happen. This weekend was truly historic for us with TWO SOLD OUT nights, and it would not have been possible without the tremendous support from our community, rodeo fans, sponsors, and volunteers.

And don’t forget — you are just as much a part of this success as anyone, working alongside our rodeo contractor. Bubba has been with us for 33 years now, and we truly appreciate your teamwork, dedication, and friendship through the years. Thank you for all you do for our rodeo family. 🤠
