No Longer a Hospice Dog! But Shofar Needs One More Procedure

Three weeks ago, Shofar's future looked heartbreakingly uncertain. He was battling a painful UTI, severe skin issues, was dangerously underweight, and was even labeled a hospice dog.

We have come so far together, but we urgently need additional donations to cover the cost of Shofar's dental surgery. Shofar has 10 teeth that needs to be removed due to severe dental disease.

❤️ He's gained 9 pounds ❤️ His UTI is gone ❤️ His skin infection is under control ❤️ His eyes have improved dramatically ❤️ He is healthy enough to be scheduled for his neuter surgery ❤️ He is NO LONGER considered a hospice dog!

This amazing boy has fought his way back, and because of that, Shofar will soon be available for adoption and ready to start the next chapter of his life.

Remember our post a few days ago asking for fosters for Lady and Lucie?

Well, just take a look at Lady now! 🥰 In just a short time in her foster home, she's already settling in beautifully. That worried, stressed look has melted away, and she's finally able to relax, decompress, and just be a dog.

This is the power of fostering.

You don't have to make a lifetime commitment to make a life-changing difference. Sometimes we simply need a safe place for a dog to stay for a couple of weeks. Our amazing fosters have vacations, family obligations, and plans too, and we often need temporary foster homes to help bridge the gap.

A warm bed, a quiet place to rest, and a little love can make all the difference for a dog.

Could you be that temporary safe haven for an animal in need? Even a short-term foster can reduce stress, improve a dog's well-being, and help them put their best paw forward while waiting for their forever family.

Have you ever had a stressful day and thought, "You know what would make this better? Tiny pink and black toe beans." ☁️🐱

We completely understand.

Those adorable little paw pads aren't just cute. They're designed for stealthy cat adventures, surprise zoomies at 2 AM, and making humans instantly forget whatever they were worried about. ❤️

At NCHS, we're lucky to see plenty of premium-quality toe beans every day, from tiny kitten beans to fully grown cat beans. And honestly? We never get tired of them.
