☀️🍎 Help Fuel Local Kids This Summer! 🍎☀️

School is out and many children in our community continue to rely on snacks and meals through local summer programs. Feeding Avery Families partners to help support youth participating in 4-H, YMCA Camp, and Summer School programs throughout Avery County.

We are currently collecting kid-friendly snack donations, including:

Every time we see a MANNA FoodBank truck pull into our parking lot, we don't just see food—we see hope, compassion, and a community coming together to care for one another.

The pallets of food unloaded become meals for families facing difficult times, nourishment for seniors on fixed incomes, and support for children who deserve full bellies and bright futures. None of this would be possible without the incredible partnership and unwavering support of MANNA FoodBank.

At Feeding Avery Families Food Pantry, we are deeply grateful for everything MANNA does behind the scenes and on the front lines to fight hunger across Western North Carolina. Their commitment allows us to continue serving our neighbors with dignity, respect, and love.

Together, we are proving that food is more than nourishment—it is community, kindness, and hope.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for every delivery, every resource, every encouraging conversation, and every opportunity to serve our community together.

We love you, MANNA!❤️ Thank you for helping us ensure that no family in Avery County has to face hunger alone.

We are so grateful to the Red Cross for supporting the work we do!

We are so grateful to the Red Cross for supporting the work we do!

Recently, our Long-Term Recovery team visited Feeding Avery Families to see firsthand how Red Cross Hurricane Helene grant funding is making a lasting impact in Avery County Government.

Thanks to this support, FAF expanded its mobile food distribution with a new refrigerated box truck—now fully operational and serving rural communities heavily affected by Hurricane Helene. The truck has been a game changer, helping FAF safely deliver fresh food to neighbors who need it most.

During the visit, we toured FAF’s 10,000-square-foot Operations Center, where a bustling food warehouse transforms each week into a client-choice market—empowering families to select their own groceries while fostering dignity, conversation, and connection.

We also followed the mobile distribution to Pine Grove United Methodist Church, a long-standing community partner, where comprehensive food packages—including fresh produce, dairy, meat, and shelf-stable goods—were distributed to local families.

What stood out most was the heart of FAF’s work: dedicated volunteers, strong community partnerships, and a commitment that goes beyond food—supporting students, checking on client wellness, and strengthening recovery across Avery County.

🧡 What an incredible organization. Feeding Avery Families has been serving Avery County since 2005, reaching an average of 545 families every month through weekly distributions, mobile deliveries, backpacks for kids, and more. In 2024 alone, they provided $1.4 million worth of food at just 17 cents.

We were honored to spend the morning packing dry goods alongside their amazing team. If you're looking for a way to give back, check them out! 🌽🍅🥕🍇
