To kick off Hunger Action Month our first item of the week is boxed cereal! 🍴🥣❤

One thing we always need is cereal! This week we will accept all cereals with special requests for gluten free cereal, kid friendly cereal, and heart healthy/ low sugar cereal options.

September 1st marks the beginning of Hunger Action Month! 🥑🍉🍊🫜🍴

Hunger Action Month is a month dedicated to bringing together communities and organizations to fight hunger in the US. To celebrate Hunger Action Month we will be posting an item of the week every week of September starting tomorrow. If you feel called to donate in support of Hunger Action Month check back here each week to see what item we are encouraging donations of. Yesterday we had the pleasure of having the Lees-McRae Basketball team visit and volunteer with us. The energy they brought to the pantry was unmatched! Our regular volunteers will have to take some notes! We are always honored to show people the magic of helping others.

HAPPY BACK TO SCHOOL DAY!!
Today Avery County Schools are back in session. On Monday we had the pleasure of tabling at the Newland Elementary Open House to spread the word about our MANNA School Packs Program.

This is a take home food program that provides 2 breakfast, 2 lunch, 2 dinner, and 4 snacks for kids. If you are interested in signing up reach out to your school counselor to get enrolled in the program.

July was a busy month for our small team and volunteers, filled with hope, compassion, and community 💚

Because of your generosity, the dedication of our incredible volunteers, and the support of our community partners, Feeding Avery Families served 879 households and 2,741 individuals in July.

These numbers represent so much more than meals— they represent children with full bellies, seniors who don’t have to choose between food and medication, and families who know they are not alone during challenging times.

To every volunteer who packed a box, every donor who gave, every partner who stood by us, and every neighbor who feels comfortable receiving support from us— thank you. Your kindness is making a lasting difference in our community.
