Thank you to the students of Michigan State University and Martin Luther Chapel who traveled from East Lansing, MI during their spring break to work in Avery County, NC! You cleaned out the attic of our volunteer center, moved and went through lots of old files, prepped and painted a bathroom and bunk room, stained part of a porch, and helped a family with widening their walkway and spreading gravel. You were a big blessing to that family! We look forward to you coming back next year and staying in our newly renovated volunteer center! We appreciate all you did, Alexis, Rose and Liz!

Thank you to the students of Mary Washington University who traveled from Fredericksburg, VA during their spring break to work in Avery County, NC! Your first day was spent shoveling and raking gravel for a new driveway for the Wilson family. You helped us clean up around our volunteer center, and also sanded and stained lots of bunk beds and put them back together. We look forward to you coming back next year and staying in our newly renovated volunteer center!

Larry Zimmer, Construction Volunteer, presented the key to the new home, Brenda Lyerly, Board Member, gave the Bible, Hallie Sullivan, Board President lead the Litany for Shelter reading, Pastor Rigoberto Blanco prayed for blessings on the house and family. Thank you to the Comfort Makers ladies of Banner Elk Presbyterian Church for the beautiful quilt. Congratulations to Isaac, Delia, Kathy, Merary, Zabdiel and Melaly! ❤️

Join us in the celebration of the completion of the new home for the Urbina family! Their Service of Dedication and Blessing is scheduled for Sunday, December 7th at 2 pm in the White Oak Knoll community. Email us at [email protected] for directions. The Urbina house was completed earlier this summer but we've yet to have their Dedication service. It's about time!

They painted interior walls and the exterior siding, installed trim and baseboards, caulked, and had a good time while doing all that! You all have helped us get the Ross family one more step closer to moving into their new home. We so appreciate your support!
