Penny Wars officially kicks off! Students please bring your change to your first block class. Place your pennies in your first block jar and give your nickels, dimes, quarters, and cash to other classes’ jars so they lose points. The class with the most pennies by next Friday will win breakfast! All proceeds go to Mercy Benfield and her family. Mercy has a heart defect and has been hospitalized for most of her young life. Let’s support Mercy and her amazing family!

Avery High Beta Members traveled to Greensboro this week to compete in the North Carolina Beta Convention! Hard work was shown in Engineering, Photography, Apparel Design, and Service Leadership!

Congrats to Kella Clark for placing Top 3 in Performing Arts in Dance! She will compete this Summer at the National Beta Convention!

We are so proud of our Betas who participated in this week’s conference! Way to go Kella, Mara, Owen, and Grace!

We are finally pushing the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox Challenge to all clubs! Make sure to bring in packed shoeboxes. If you need ideas or suggestions for what to put in your shoebox there are links on the slideshow on our canvas page, visit Samaritan’s Purse website, or feel free to ask me. Each shoebox packed equals 2 hours of service you may turn in. There are also labels in Mrs. Burchette's room for your use, so you don't have to worry about printing those off. Remember, the club that brings in the most packed shoeboxes will win a prize (possibly cupcakes or a pizza party). So, make sure to be bringing in shoeboxes! If you have any questions feel free to reach out!

NC State Beta Convention 2023

What a weekend! Three Beta students attended convention this weekend and Avery High had two students place for Nationals while competing this weekend!

Congratulations to Kella Clark placing Top 5 (4th place) in the state and qualifying for Nationals in Performing Arts Dance.

Congratulations to Owen Ward for placing 2nd in the state for Color Photography and qualifying for Nationals!

Congratulations to Avery’s first Engineering team to ever compete! They did an amazing job at states and we are so proud of this three student team for being committed and dedicated to competing for your club!

Also congratulations to Libby Powell for 2nd place in Creative Writing virtual event.

12th Grade Betas - the scholarship application is now available!

National Beta awards over $300,000 in scholarships each year to 12th grade Beta members. Selection of National Beta Scholarship winners is based on a number of factors, with an emphasis on academic excellence, demonstrated leadership, commendable character, school and community service, as well as participation in National Beta Club activities.
