🍀 That’s a wrap on Northeast District Youth in Action 2026! 🍀

Our Kay County 4-H members had a great time connecting with 4-H’ers from across the district, trying new things, serving others, and showing off their leadership skills!

MaCaila Scheenberger, Ellie Newport, and C**t Whetstone teamed up to lead a snack board workshop using MyPlate to help members think about making healthy choices when it comes to snack time.

During a general sessions, Charli Evans led the Pledge of Allegiance and C**t Whetstone led the 4-H Pledge.

Cash Tripp took the lead on the district service project, teaching members how to create Comfort Bags for children in need. Thanks to items brought by delegates and lots of teamwork, the district put together 57 Comfort Bags!

And a BIG congratulations goes to C**t Whetstone, who was elected the 2026-2027 Northeast District Reporter!

Of course, there was plenty of fun mixed in too! Members got to hit the dance floor and spend some time rolling around the rink.

We love seeing our Kay County 4-H members learn, lead, serve, and have fun along the way! Way to represent Kay County!

📚 Calling all Oklahoma 4-H teen leaders! 🔬

Ready to share your love of STEM while making a difference in your community? 4-H’ers in grades 7-12 are invited to join us for our STEM Storytime training session on Thursday, Oct. 29, from 6-8 p.m. in Stillwater. STEM Storytime is a new program where 4-H teens read STEM-themed stories and lead hands-on learning activities for local youth.

Participants will receive training on two STEM-focused books, get supplies and materials to teach activities for up to 30 children and build leadership, communication and teaching skills. The cost is $10, which includes program materials and snacks. Register by Oct. 25 to receive a STEM Storytime T-shirt.

🍂 Become a Nature Detective this fall with Nature Navigators! 🔎

Oklahoma 4-H’ers, registration is open in ZSuite for the fall edition of Nature Navigators: Wellness in the Wild. Explore the outdoors as you search for signs of wildlife, take on the fall color hike challenge, create nature-inspired art and learn how animals adapt to their environments. 🐾

You’ll also enjoy a seasonal healthy snack activity by turning pumpkin seeds into a tasty treat while thinking like a food scientist and testing different flavors. Complete activities, share your discoveries and earn your fall Nature Navigators badge. 🍁

Tulsa State Fair Exhibit Pickup Reminder

If you have an exhibit that qualified for the Tulsa State Fair from the Kay County Free Fair. Your items will be available for pickup beginning Tuesday, October 13, at 2:00 p.m.

Pick up your exhibits at the Kay County OSU Extension Office during regular business hours: Monday-Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Kay County 4-H County Service Project

Join Kay County 4-H as we collect items for Comfort Bags, which provide support and comfort to children facing difficult situations across Northern Oklahoma. Items such as coloring books, blankets, stuffed animals, hygiene products, and other comfort items are needed to help fill these bags. 

Donations can be dropped off at the Kay County OSU Extension Office. Every donation, big or small, can help bring a little comfort to a child when they need it most.

Thank you for supporting our 4-H members as they give back and make a difference in the lives of others.

Help Support a Kay County 4-H Service Project!

Charli is leading a wonderful 4-H service project, Mail Call for Heroes, helping youth learn about gratitude, citizenship, and service while creating heartfelt cards and letters for Veterans participating in Honor Flights.

Donations of patriotic card-making supplies are needed! New, leftover, or gently used supplies are all welcome.

Every donation helps these young people show appreciation to the heroes who have served our country!

🗳️ Leadership starts with learning how your voice can make a difference!

Join us for Oklahoma 4-H Junior Governor and explore the three branches of government, build public speaking skills and experience the election process firsthand. Designed for youth in grades 4-6, this hands-on event helps young leaders gain confidence, make connections and discover ways to serve their communities.

The event will be held Saturday, Nov. 7, in Stillwater. Registration is $20, and the deadline is Oct. 9, so sign up soon! ✍️
