DEMING-YOUNG FARM FOUNDATION SPRING TAG SALE

The Deming-Young Farm Foundation will be holding its annual spring tag sale on Saturday, May 16th from 9a.m. to 2p.m. at 282 Church St. in Newington. A variety of items will be available including household items, knick-knacks, kitchen items, Vera Bradley pocketbooks, hardware, some small furniture, vintage items, antiques and more. Rain date will be Saturday, May 23rd. Stop by and find a treasure!

DEMING-YOUNG FARM FOUNDATION SEEKS TAG SALE DONATIONS

The Deming-Young Farm Foundation is seeking tag sale donations for its May 16th fundraising tag sale. We are seeking household items, small furniture pieces, vintage and/or antique items, knick- knacks, jewelry, etc. for donation. Unfortunately, we cannot accept books, clothes, toys, Christmas decorations or large pieces of furniture. We can help with pickup. Call David or Mary at 860-666-1016 if you have any questions or to arrange a donation. Also, we are seeking volunteers to help with this sale especially for set-up and breakdown. Thank you for your help.

Due to ongoing restoration projects at the 1784 Thomas Deming farmhouse all events scheduled in our spring newsletter for July and August have been postponed.

Our next planned event will be our annual fall tag sale in September.

We also hope to have a grand reopening Open House event sometime in October.

Deming-Young Farm Foundation Annual Spring Tag Sale

The Deming-Young Farm Foundation will be holding its annual spring tag sale on Saturday, May 17th from 9am to 2pm. The sale will be held at 282 Church St. in Newington. All proceeds from the tag sale will go toward the restoration and preservation of the Thomas Deming farmhouse. Items for sale will include household items, small furniture, knick-knacks, Vera Bradley pocketbooks, antiques, some jewelry, tools and more. Raindate is Saturday, May 24th. If you have any items to donate for the tag sale, please call David or Mary at 860-666-1016.

A very successful tag sale was held in September. The foundation holds two tag sales each year for fundraising purposes. Our next tag sale will be in May 2025.
**An Open House tour was held in early October. The tour also included a display of antique farm implements, local milk bottles and items from the Newington Grange. Historian George Crede also gave a presentation on the Revolutionary War soldier.
**David Goodale, President if the foundation, gave a presentation at the Senior Center in late October. The talk included an overview of the farmhouse's history, the completed restoration projects and a look ahead to planned restoration projects in the future.
