Phone: (307) 226-2873 The museum was named after Anna Cecelia McMoran Miller, the daughter of a pioneer family, and the widow of Sheriff Billy Miller, who was killed in what is known as the last Indian battle in this area. Included with the Anna Miller Museum complex is the Green Mountain School, a rural one-room schoolhouse of the 1890-1930′s. It contains a wood burning stove, school desks, maps, blackboards, and more! A homesteader’s house is also on the property, as well as the Jenney Stockade cabin, both true models of pioneer living. The Jenney Stockade cabin is the oldest existing building of the Black Hills gold rush. It was also a stage station along the Cheyenne – Deadwood stage trail.

Our new rotating display will feature fresh artwork created by the youth of Weston County. A new collection will be showcased each month, giving our young artists an ongoing opportunity to share their creativity with the community. Each updated display will be posted for everyone to enjoy.

We would like to give a shoutout to our maintenance man Mike, here at the Anna Miller Museum. Mike has recently built and placed new wooden headstones at the Old Ridge Cemetery, in Newcastle. Many of the original headstones were made of wood and have rotted away over the years. Some of the graves did not even have a marker until now! Thank you, Mike for all of your hard work.
