June 5th, 1858 edition of the State Gazette. W.N.P. Martin is incorrect, it should be Marlin, of Marlin Ranch notoriety, located a few miles south of the fort. Patrick Murphy would be the same man that operated Murphy’s Station north east of the fort.

From one cannon, a dozen or so volunteers, a couple hundred pounds of crawfish and about 50 people to THIS! I’d say it’s been a successful 10 years of Crawfish and Cannons. Huge thank you to Ray Johnson with Goods Light Artillery and Loyal Train of Artillery , Pat Green, and John Baumann for putting on a heck of a show.
