ues are tax deductible. Members often organize small group Field Trips to visit area gardens in the summer. We host a Members Garden Tour in June and a Harvest dinner in September. Members volunteer to maintain the Kelley School Horse Trough, three Waterfront Trust Gardens, several Clipper City Rail Trail gardens, as well as other public spaces throughout the city. In the winter we decorate a room in the historic Cushing House Museum, as well as decorating Santa's Workshop on Brown Square in Newburyport. In the Spring of 2021, we organized a very successful Plant Sale and Basket Raffle on the lawn of The Custom House Maritime Museum. For many years we have awarded one or more scholarships to local high school seniors pursuing studies related to horticulture. Our fundraising efforts include financial support of trees to Friends of Newburyport Trees, restoration of stone walls at Maudslay State Park, establishment of gardens through Nourishing The North Shore, restoration of The Atkinson Common Tower. We currently have more than 80 members and welcome new members throughout the year. You do not have to be an expert gardener to belong.
