Window Preservation Alliance

Window Preservation Alliance Our mission is to inspire the preservation of original windows by educating the public about their beauty, craftsmanship and energy efficiency.

The Window Preservation Alliance (WPA) was created to build awareness of window restoration and repair. Windows built before 1960 were designed to be serviced, and can be made beautiful and energy efficient. Replacement windows have been proven to be a poor investment. Many of our members also build custom windows in the traditional manner.

I spied this nifty window "lock" today at the Dole-Little House in Newbury, MA.
Please, do not ask me where you can buy these. You can't. You can, however, ask a blacksmith to make some for you.

Thursday Happy Hour:

Join us for a pre-event networking mixer at 5pm on Thursday, April 30th at TBA. Participants can unwind from their travels and swap stories while enjoying some local light bites provided by the WPA.

Friday Dinner:

After we finish our official workshop, anyone who is interested can join us at a local restaurant that will be shared on Friday at 6 pm to continue to network and talk shop over dinner. This is optional at your own expense.

Thursday Oddities Tour: 1 PM ( add on event $20/person)

If you arrive in town early enough, join us as we visit sites in nearby Newburyport where you will see pulleys installed in the middle of the jambs, triple hung windows of enormous size, windows that disappear into the wall, etc. It's a geeks delight of window oddities.

This event is open to non-owner shop managers and employees and solo shop owners only. This ensures a safe space to openly discuss challenges related to managing a shop from the employee perspective. Registration is limited to WPA members or employees of a WPA member company.
