In summer’s gentle morning glow,
Through Newbury the warm winds softly blow.
From every lamp post, high and bright,
Hang baskets spilling color and light.
Red petunias dance in the sun,
White blooms shimmer one by one,
Blue blossoms sway in evening air,
A patriotic beauty everywhere.
Barrels brimming by the street,
Window boxes rich and sweet,
Line the town with cheerful grace,
Bringing smiles to every face.
And through the long and busy days,
Behind the scenes in quiet ways,
The hardworking NBC crew
Tends each flower, fresh with dew.
They water, prune, and faithfully care,
For every basket hanging there,
So all who wander, pass, or stay
Feel welcomed in a special way.
Their work becomes a living art,
A blooming gift from heart to heart,
Making summer brightly bloom
Throughout the town in full perfume.
So here’s to hands both kind and true,
To every dedicated NBC crew,
Whose flowers tell, in red, white, and blue,
