As summer comes to a close, it’s time to say goodbye to our beautiful summer flowers! This coming week, the flowers will be removed as we turn our attention to preparations for our Annual Wreath Sale on November 21 and the holiday Greening of the Town.

We hope you enjoyed this year’s red, white, and blue theme as much as we enjoyed bringing it to life. The red begonias were especially spectacular and added such a vibrant touch to our community!

Thank you for enjoying and supporting the Newbury Beautification Committee’s efforts to keep our town beautiful throughout the seasons. Stay tuned as our worker bees get busy preparing for the holidays!

A huge thank you to member Bill Hall. Bill repaired and repainted the Little Library by the Harbor. If you were unaware that this was there then we urge you to take a look next time you drive through town. Bill also repaired and painted the little library by the South Newbury Union Church. Thank you Bill for all your efforts and dedication to support the NBC mission.

Susan Giaccotto, local artist, NBC member and Newbury resident, has graciously donated one of her recent drawings for our raffle at Old Home Day to support our scholarship fund. Susan's fondness for NH began with creating hand drawn notecards and drawings depicting our four seasons and state symbols. A set of mason jar cards are reminiscent of childhood summers in NH spent at her grandmother's lakeside home. Susan has taken her craft to new heights with a variety of NH themed drawings as well as many new card collections. She has branched out with maps of Massachusetts and Connecticut, researching NH wildflowers as well as the state's common backyard birds. Many of these birds have been frequent visitors to her home."
See you at Old Home Day on July 11 and don't forget the July 4 parade. Come enjoy the music by our NBC member Kazoo band.
