๐ŸŽ‰ COMMUNITY CELEBRATION & DONOR SIGN UNVEILING AT LOU DENNIS COMMUNITY PARK! ๐ŸŽ‰

The Town of Newburgh invites the community to join us on Friday, September 18 at 3:00 p.m. as we celebrate the people, organizations, and funding partners who helped make the new improvements at Lou Dennis Community Park possible.

๐Ÿ“… Friday, September 18, 2026
๐Ÿ•’ 3:00 p.m.
๐Ÿ“ Lou Dennis Community Park
402 Park Drive โ€ข Newburgh, Indiana
๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ Free & Open to the Public

The celebration will include brief remarks, recognition of our community partners and donors, and the official unveiling of two permanent donor recognition signs.

The improvements at Lou Dennis Community Park include:

๐Ÿ› A new inclusive and accessible playground
๐Ÿ’ช The Robert Emmett Griffin Obstacle & Fitness Zone
โ™ฟ Accessible surfacing
โ˜€๏ธ Shade and seating
๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ Recreational opportunities for children, teens, adults and families

The playground was made possible through $1 million in READI 2.0 funding and more than $651,000 in Town of Newburgh funding. The Robert Emmett Griffin Obstacle & Fitness Zone was made possible through an additional $385,575 in private gifts and grants raised by Newburgh Park Pals, with more than 80 individuals and families contributing to the campaign.
This project represents what can happen when public investment, private generosity and community partnerships come together around a shared vision.

Most importantly, this celebration is our opportunity to say THANK YOU to everyone who believed in this project and invested in creating a place for our community to play, gather and grow together.

We hope youโ€™ll join us on September 18 as we recognize those who helped make it possible! โค๏ธ

๐Ÿš— A Friendly Reminder About Parking at Lou Dennis Community Park

We are so grateful to see so many families enjoying the new playground at Lou Dennis Community Park! The excitement and community support have been incredible, and we love seeing the park filled with children and families.
With the large turnout during our First Play event, we wanted to share a friendly reminder about parking. While we do not expect this to become an ongoing issue, we ask everyone to please help us be good neighbors and follow the Town's parking ordinance.

Please remember:
๐Ÿšซ No parking is permitted on Park Drive (from Jefferson Street west to the end of Park Drive) in accordance with Town Ordinance 1999-9.

๐ŸŒณ Please do not park in the grassy area south of the playground. This area must remain clear for the safety of park users, emergency access, and to protect the park grounds.
There is ample parking available in the park's designated parking lots. If the lots are full during especially busy times, we encourage visitors to return later or consider walking or biking to the park if possible.

Thank you for helping us keep Lou Dennis Community Park safe, accessible, and enjoyable for everyoneโ€”and for being respectful of our neighbors. We appreciate your support and look forward to seeing you at the park! ๐Ÿ’™๐ŸŒณ
