Well I don’t think anyone was expecting this. Like most I almost threw this “junk mail” looking parcel away thinking it was another Union credit card or Alcoa workers discount on insurance but to my surprise the envelope contained two legit checks. The checks were part of a settlement in the class action lawsuit Deruchia vs. Alcoa USA Corp. So lesson here and reason for the post is check your mailbox or your trash asap or if you haven’t gotten your checks and were employed between Dec. 2021 and July 2025 and were an hourly employee. Do not call the Union Hall expecting any answers on this matter, call the Attorneys office @ 713-352-1100 with any questions. Before you cash those checks read over the entire letter so you are informed on what all this means.
