💦CITY OF NEWBURGH HIGHLIGHTS THE PROGRESS AND INVESTMENT IN THE CITY’S WATER SYSTEM DURING THE 2026 AMERICAN WATER WORKS ASSOCIATION’S (AWWA) DRINKING WATER WEEK💦
During the 2026 American Water Works Association (AWWA) Drinking Water Week, the City of Newburgh Water Department is hosting an open house to provide the public with a unique opportunity to tour the City’s critical drinking water supply facilities and to meet the dedicated municipal workers that work hard to produce the City’s high-quality drinking water.
Quality drinking water provides the backbone for the health, safety and economic vitality of a city. Keeping water systems reliable for both drinking water and fire protection is a round-the-clock commitment and significant expense.
City Manager and Commissioner of Public Works, Jason Morris, PE said, “The City’s water infrastructure is usually out of sight and out of mind, but these assets are critical for protecting public health, providing fire protection for City buildings and to ensure the steady growth and revitalization of our City’s economy. We know the investments we make today will allow future generations to prosper, just as we benefit and build on the infrastructure investments made by our predecessors.”
The City of Newburgh’s open house will take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at 493 Little Britain Road, Newburgh, NY 12550. Come explore the facility, ask questions, and discover how your water is managed to meet the highest standards.
