As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on those who gave everything in service to our nation.

We would like to thank American Legion Post 627 for their support and hosting the 2026 Memorial Day parade.

From all of us at the Newburgh Heights Fire Department, we thank our fallen heroes and the families who carry their legacy forward.

This morning members of the Newburgh Heights Fire Department participated in Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) training, provided by the Cleveland Clinic and instructed by Lt. Greg Jordan.

This training ensures our crews remain prepared to deliver the highest level of care when it matters most, especially for our youngest patients. We’re proud to continue investing in education, training, and excellence in service to our community.

A huge thank you to the Newburgh Heights Fire Department, Police Department, and Village Council members for all the hard work that went into organizing and running today’s Easter egg hunt. Events like this don’t happen without the time, effort, and dedication of so many behind the scenes.

We also want to thank all the families who came out to join us. It was awesome to see so many smiles and kids enjoying the day!

After 19 years of dedicated service to the Village and 42 years total beginning his career at Cleveland EMS, tomorrow marks Lieutenant Greg Jordan’s final shift with Newburgh Heights Fire Department.

From the fireground to the medic unit, his commitment, leadership, and kindness have left a lasting impact on everyone he’s worked with. Lt. Jordan was especially known for his deep knowledge in EMS and his willingness to share it. He took the time to teach, mentor, and make those around him better. Because of him, many of us became stronger, more confident medics.

While he’s closing this chapter, he’ll be continuing his passion for teaching as the EMS Coordinator at South Pointe Hospital where there’s no doubt he’ll continue to make an impact.

If you’ve had the privilege of serving alongside him, feel free to stop by tomorrow and wish him well as he begins this next chapter.

The members of NHFD past and present thank you for 19 years of selfless service.

Due to the current power outage, the Community Room in the Village of Newburgh Heights will be opening tonight at 7:00 PM as a charging station for residents.

Residents are welcome to stop by to charge phones, tablets, and medical devices. Please remember to bring your own charging cables if possible.

Our goal is to help the community stay connected and safe while power is being restored. Please share this post to help spread the word to neighbors who may need it.

The National Weather Service has issued two advisories for Cuyahoga County for the beginning of the week.

From 7 p.m. on Monday to noon on Tuesday, the county will be under a Cold Weather Advisory as dangerous temperatures move into the area.

In addition to the Cold Weather Advisory, a Wind Advisory has also been issued for Cuyahoga County from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday.

*Dress in layers, minimize time spent outdoors, bring pets inside, and keep your thermostat above 55 degrees Fahrenheit at a minimum when away from your home.

*Check on sensitive groups: older adults, children, and pets. If you suspect someone has hypothermia, call 9-1-1, move them to a warm place, remove any wet clothing, and wrap in blankets, monitor breathing and circulation.
