Urgent call for help!

Atlas, our 16 year old Quarter Horse / Paint gelding (Available for Adoption!), has suffered a dental emergency!

He has broken a tooth, and extraction of the tooth has become an extensive procedure requiring multiple veterinarians and many hours. This emergency veterinary bill is still growing. If you are able to do so, please consider contributing towards his emergency care expense. ALL donations to Hoofprints in the Sand are TAX DEDUCTIBLE!

If you are not able to make a donation, PLEASE SHARE THIS POST!

Thank you so much for your support. We will update on Atlas' recovery soon!

Friday was a very difficult day at the rescue.

We knew that this would be our last season with two of our senior mares, Missy and Fiona. They have both battled with worsening mobility, and as time has gone on, they've had a harder and harder time getting around. We kept them comfortable for as long as possible, but the time finally came to make the toughest decision.

We are so so thankful they gave us one more summer to spend with them and love on them.

Forever in Our Hearts... 🐴💜

All three minis, Josey the Mini Horse and her two Mini Mule sons Jasper and Buckley, have officially been adopted out to their new home as of July! This trio was the family unit of Ozzy the Mini Donkey, who passed unexpectedly in April.

🐴 Missy and Fiona have formed a very close bond since the loss of Ozzy, the mini donkey. They are both permanent residents of Hoofprints who will spend the rest of their days at the rescue. Both of them face mobility issues that come with age, but our team at Hoofprints has been doing all we can to keep them as comfortable and happy as possible.

Fiona was recently fitted with new shoes 🧲 and we have seen an improvement in her comfort and mobility.

If you would like to contribute to Fiona or Missy’s health and comfort expenses, please consider making a donation with the memo “Fiona”, “Missy”, or both! Donations can be made through our website, hoofprintsrescue.org, sent to our Venmo , sent via mail, or dropped off in person at the rescue. 💌

Help us keep our red mares happy!
