CRI has joined a national coalition raising concerns about how scientific evidence is presented to federal judges.

The coalition is asking the Federal Judicial Center to remove the “How Science Works” chapter from its Reference Manual on Scientific Evidence, arguing that courts should evaluate scientific evidence based on the reliability of the evidence and methods used—not simply perceived scientific consensus. Why does this matter to Delaware? Scientific and technical evidence can influence decisions involving healthcare, energy, environmental regulation, business, and other issues that affect Delawareans.

One Delaware homeowner challenged the state's offshore wind approval process—and won a significant victory for transparency and accountability. On October 13, Delaware's Environmental Appeals Board voted 5–1 in favor of Edward Bintz's challenge, sending the US Wind approval back to DNREC for further review.

✅ State agencies must follow their own regulations.
✅ Delawareans deserve transparency.
✅ Citizens deserve a voice in decisions affecting their communities.

There’s a lot of confusion about how the Federal Scholarship Tax Credit would work — especially when it comes to funding.

MYTH: Participating would take money away from Delaware public schools.

FACT: The scholarships would be privately funded through federal tax credits, not Delaware education appropriations. With 90% of K-12 students attending public schools, it would bring money to those students!

The proposal could create additional educational opportunities for Delaware students without reducing existing state or local school funding.
