Delaware has maintained a top 10 ranking in the country as being a Bicycle Friendly State since 2012. For the 2026 ranking, there is a new public survey component, where the League of American Bicyclists wants to hear from people who bike in Delaware. Whether you ride every day, occasionally, or simply care about improving bicycling where you live, your feedback can help shape the League's 2026 Bicycle Friendly State ranking.

The survey takes just a few minutes to complete and is open through September 1.

Due to dangerous temperatures above 100' F at ride time tonight we have reluctantly decided to cancel the event this month.

Newark Nite Friday June 5 is happening when we normally schedule FirstFriday Ride for June.

We are cancelling the FirstFriday ride this month so that we can attend NewarkNite on Main Street on June 5.

NewarkNite is back after several years and we wanted to help promote it in conjunction with Newark Parks and Recreation.

We hope to see you on Main Street.

As the weather warms up, more people are out and about on their bikes, but it is important to ride safely.

The past two weeks, BikeNewark has partnered with Delaware Department of Transportation (DelDOT), Delaware Commute Solutions, Newark Bike Project, Wilmington Area Planning Council and the University of Delaware to offer Bicycle-safety checkpoints at the pedestrian intersection of The Green and Delaware Avenue.
