South Ward Promise Neighborhood South Ward Promise Neighborhood is a collaborative action network that works to end the cycle of poverty for people residing in the South Ward of Newark, NJ.

SWPN is a non-profit organization serving children and families in the South Ward of Newark. Our mission is to ensure that children and their families have the resources and support they need to be successful beyond the school walls. SWPN works with over 20 partners and uses a two-Generation approach to improve the educational outcomes of students by stabilizing and improving family conditions in

the areas of family support, housing, health, early childhood education, K- 12 education, College and Career. To accomplish this goal, we provide and coordinate free high-quality programs and services for children and families from birth through college and career.

Today, BRICK CEO Dominique Lee testified before the NJ Senate Subcommittee in support of bill S2617/A4295.

This legislation represents an important step toward strengthening support systems for families across New Jersey and creating greater opportunities for long-term community success.

Last night was a moment we will not forget. We celebrated 15 years of BRICK—15 years of showing what is possible when we stay committed to children and families. What started as one school has grown into a model that supports families through education, health, housing, and workforce. And we are building even more. We are moving forward with a clear focus on Wellness, Knowledge, and Wealth, and a bold goal of putting 2,500 families on a path to prosperity. Thank you to everyone who showed up, stood with us, and believes in this work. The energy in the room said it all.

What a day.

Yesterday, we broke ground on the South Ward Wellness Center. A big step forward for the South Ward and for Newark.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, stood with us, and helped mark this moment. This project has been years in the making, and it only moves forward because of the community, partners, and leaders who believe in building real infrastructure for health, opportunity, and stability.

Now the real work begins.
