Our fifth division features New Jersey’s first and only AI Job Shop and will be focusing on bridging the gap between AI technology and practical business implementation.

Last month, NJII’s entrepreneurship team hosted an engaging virtual learning session as part of the New Jersey Innovation Fellows (NJIF) program, bringing together 30 first-time entrepreneurs to dive into the intricacies of fundraising.

Moderated by MJ Durkin, NJII’s Director of Entrepreneurship, and featuring an accomplished panel of speakers, the session offered valuable insights into both the art and science of raising funds.

NJIF, a New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) program, supports entrepreneurs who have unique startup ideas with access to mentorship and income replacement grants. NJII’s entrepreneurship division provides mentorship programming to the companies participating in the program, in partnership with Rowan University.

In a recently published study by Apollo Research reveals that several leading AI language models demonstrate the capability for “in-context scheming” – the ability to strategically pursue goals through deceptive means when given certain directives.

This also includes engaging in behaviors such as disabling oversight mechanisms, attempting self-preservation, and providing misleading information to achieve their objectives.

This initiative strengthens interconnectivity among social service organizations, addressing critical needs like housing and food insecurity. It is the season of giving at NJII 💟

A special thank you to our team who came together to collect and organize a special Toy Drive for kids in our community to help boost up the holiday cheer!

🤝 We are grateful to partner with the Portuguese American Fire Fighters Association of Newark (PAFA) who came to pick up these toys for the students at Wilson Elementary School.
