Greetings!
I am Teresa, Host of The Court of the Iron Garden. On Behalf of The Citizens of the Iron Garden would like to thank all that attended this past weekend, Friday, September 25th. It was a wonderful night filled with creativity, conversation, and community! Thank you to all who braved the turbulent weather to come on down to QXT’s.
We ushered in the evening, beginning with our Conclave with Doktor John, who brought us musical and social history with “New Dark Age”. The presentation was not just about music, but the social and personal expression and rebellion that lit a fuse for so many bands to express themselves. The bonds of Rock to Motown, Punk and Gothic Rock were expertly explained and linked; I always learn something new when hearing his presentations- well done!
We continued our night with a keynote of “The Essence of Tarot” presented by Sasha Graham. The information was personal, passionate, and presented with themes of growth. Her own personal expression of the Tarot was done in a vampiric theme that blended sensuality with substance. Thank you for a wonderful evening!
Our Ceremony celebrating the Autum Equinox Rite, “The Red Harvest”, was presented by Madame Mazikeen Dracarys Dei . It was not merely a celebration of the harvest season, but a deeply personal reflection on growth, releasing what now no longer serves or aides us, and a reclaiming of hunger, desire, nourishment, and gaining power to go forth. A tiny, blessed bag of seeds was given out to symbolize what we to choose to plant and harvest in our own time… thank you for this evening’s ritual Madame Mazikeen.
A thank you goes out to our featured artist, Dom Draven, along with his lovely wife, Smash Adams, who presented both 2-d and 3-d works! Tiny sculptures, raised paintings, and prints were available all night. His piece, The Seventh Gate”, was auctioned off to our own Lord Nous Asotus for a VERY demanded $80! Well done!
In Crypt we had Lady Aradia Arcanum doing personalized “Astrology” readings open to our patrons.
Our Featured book was “A Hellish Fury” By Eva Vertrice, a SECOND installation of her “Fury” Trilogy. A pair of historical and magical women face the supernatural fury of ring that can bring Hell on Earth… can they uncover the secret to stopping this, or are they just pawns in a larger game- an exciting sequel!
Also, a special birthday went out to our own Lady Louisa Ashe ! A blessed year to you!
Congratulations to our 50/50 winner, Smash Adams- or was it Dom Draven? The money was collected and spilt for our Animal Charity – Howling Woods Farm! Thank you all for your generosity.
Thank You DJ Pete DeFillipofor the Gothic Lounge Music. Thank you to our wait staff and barkeepers for their wonderful service. Much gratitude for Rolando, and the whole of QXT's (Official) Staff for making Area 51 & the Crypt available to the Iron Garden !
And stay tuned! We are in the process of updating our website gallery - thank you. We thank Herr Wulfsunus for his website contributions, our amazing Scribe Mazakeen- and Lady Louisa who aided this evening, to Lord Nous Asotus, our Marshall, and all our founders and Elders for their continued support and guidance. Allen Lau also stepped in as our photographer for the evening. Thanks so much!!
Next month is spooky season on Friday, October 23rd! We cannot wait to host our very special Samhain gathering with guests, and presenters! Tonya Knudsen will be our artist, the Samhain Ceremony will be by Cenobite Genevieve Andrews-Kelly, and a conclave on “Robot-kin” by Sahn Nexus AgaKhan!
Thank you all for attending, participating in, and supporting the Iron Garden!
See you soon!
