Did you know that 25% of the men served at St. Vincent Haven successfully complete our program? This process, known in the field of service, as "voluntary planned exit," signifies an incredible achievement not only for the men involved but also for our entire community.

To put this into perspective: 1 out of every 4 men experiencing homelessness at The Haven actively choose to embrace the resources we provide, commit to their personal growth, and work diligently towards a brighter future. Through God’s Great Grace and the unwavering support of our dedicated Haven team—our hearts and hands for service—they secure housing, complete with the necessary deposit and first month's rent

Not only do our graduates find a place to call home, but they also establish their own savings accounts and secure stable income, primarily through employment. While 25% may seem modest at first glance, consider this: the national average for success in shelters is only 7%!

We are in reverent and constant awe of our Lord's presence at the Haven, and incredibly grateful for everyone involved in this journey—our staff, volunteers, cook teams, supporters, donors, community partners, and of course, the men who bravely take steps toward transformation. Every success story is a testament to the impact and love that the Haven strives to bring into our community.

☔ Rainy days don’t stop life for the men at St. Vincent Haven. Many of the men we serve walk to work, appointments, recovery meetings, job interviews, and essential services in every kind of weather.

One of our greatest needs today is something simple but incredibly important: disposable rain ponchos.

We keep our Amazon Wishlist updated regularly with the items most needed at the Haven, making it easy for our community to step in and help in practical ways. Every donated item becomes a reminder to someone struggling that they are seen, cared for, and supported. ❤️

There is something deeply meaningful about a home-cooked meal. This weekend, this incredible St. Vincent Haven Cook Team filled our kitchen with the comforting aroma of sizzling fajitas, warm rice, fresh peppers, and kindness. For the men staying at the Haven, dinner is more than food on a plate — it is dignity, care, and the reminder that someone took the time to prepare something special just for them. ❤️

Many of the men we serve have experienced homelessness, isolation, addiction, trauma, and seasons of life where no one gathered around a table with them or made them a warm meal. Something as simple as walking into the Haven and smelling dinner cooking can bring peace, comfort, and hope after years of hardship.

Our men truly appreciate every Cook Team that walks through our doors. These meals nourish more than hungry stomachs — they nourish hearts and restore a sense of belonging and home.

Mission Moment: Meet Erik

For years, Erik carried the weight of addiction, instability, and homelessness. He describes himself as “The CEO of My Own Disasters,” a man who had spent much of his life trapped in cycles he could not break alone. What makes Erik’s story extraordinary is not where he started — it is the courage he found to change the direction of his life.

When Erik came to St. Vincent Haven, he found more than shelter. He found people willing to walk beside him through the hardest parts of recovery, healing, and rebuilding. Erik says, "People at the Haven "Cared" me through it." Step by step, Erik chose accountability over excuses, recovery over relapse, and hope over hopelessness.

Today, Erik is a graduate of the Haven program. He is working, thriving in sobriety, rebuilding relationships, and continuing to pursue growth in every area of his life. His journey is a powerful reminder that recovery is possible when someone is given compassion, structure, community, and the opportunity to begin again.

Erik’s comeback story is one of resilience, honesty, and transformation — and we are humbled and honored to celebrate how far he has come.
