National School Library Month 💜💜 Marshall PTA president 💙 Thank you for everything that you do! Ms.D you rock!!!

Please join us in recognizing our wonderful Librarian during National School Library Month!
Ms. D'Ascendis is our Librarian and PTA President at Marshall Elementary. Ms. D. is our new Librarian, after 3 years as a Special Education Teacher at Marshall (17 years as an educator in all). She has wanted to be a librarian since she was a student here at Marshall! Ms. D. works hard to share her love of books with students and to make the Library a safe place for all. This year she has been focusing on building a more diverse library. She surveyed students to determine what kinds of books they wanted to see in the Library. This allowed her begin to build a new collection that helps our students feel represented in the books we have to share. Her love of books is evident in the many book character costumes she wears at school and the way she works to find the perfect book for every child.

Our 8th Annual PTA Basket Raffle is now up and running online via MemberHub.

Please see the links below to purchase tickets and place bids on items.

When you purchase basket tickets online, please select the amount you would like to purchase and add them to your cart.

Please also click on the baskets you wish to bid on and select the number of tickets you would like per basket. Then add that to your cart. This way we can get them filled out and into buckets for you! :) There is no charge for selecting the baskets.

Once you have checked out, you will receive an emailed receipt.

How about a night off from cooking dinner while supporting Thurgood Marshall Elementary PTA
Attention friends, family, neighbors, and local Queso lovers! We are hosting a Moe’s Popup Fundraiser on Tuesday, November 14th, for Thurgood Marshall.

These Take-home Family Taco Kits are ready to eat when you get home, making your night easier, plus for every kit sold, 25% will be donated to Thurgood Marshall ..…that’s $10.75 per kit!!!

The Meal Kits feed 4-6, come with all the fixings to make up to 12 tacos, and are $43.00 Choose from chicken, ground beef, ½ chicken and ½ ground beef, or vegetarian. Check out the photo for all that is included!

This is a fun, and convenient way to have dinner ready to pick up while supporting a favorite organization. Take a much-deserved night off from cooking, order your family a night of tacos. Show your support!

Congratulations, Marshall Elementary! Our school community is pretty amazing!

We are thrilled to announce that Marshall (Thurgood) Elementary School has been named a 2023 National Blue Ribbon School! This prestigious recognition is awarded to schools that have demonstrated exceptional academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups on assessments.

On September 19, U.S. Secretary of Education Miguel Cardona recognized 353 schools across the nation as National Blue Ribbon Schools for 2023. Marshall Elementary School is one of only three schools in the State of Delaware to receive this honor.

This achievement is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and commitment of our incredible students, teachers, staff, and parents.

Congratulations to Marshall Elementary School for this remarkable achievement!

Hello Marshall Families!!! We certainly hope each of you has had a safe and relaxing summer! We are excited to start the new school year very soon!

Our teachers head back to school tomorrow to begin preparing for the 23/24 school year.

Swing by the PTA table to learn how you can help support our Marshall family and join PTA.

Lots of end of year events being planned. Stay tuned as we get updates.

Mr. Bossert, our PE teacher would like you to send students to school with several items so that they can have a safe, fun, and comfortable day. At this point the weather looks promising!!
- Proper footwear: no crocs, flip flops, or sandals
- Extra pair of clothes
- Water bottle
- Sunscreen: please be aware that teachers cannot apply

Marshall Mile – THANK YOU to everyone who donated to the event. We raised about $2100. We have to tally the final amount and will share. We will be contacting our highest fundraiser once we have the final amounts. We will also be planning the event to tape Mr. Simpson to the wall ASAP. We are scheduling around all the year end events. Stay tuned.

Marshall Mile is on Thursday! Highest earner wins a free week of summer camp at Saginaw Day Camp.

All proceeds will go towards the outdoor classroom
Form should have come home with your students.
