It is with profound sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our founding director, John “Jack” Drury, whose life and leadership helped shape generations of young musicians and performers.
Jack Drury was more than a founder; he was a mentor, educator, and a tireless advocate for the transformative power of music and the performing arts. His vision created opportunities for young people to develop discipline, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for artistic excellence.
Through his leadership and dedication, he helped build a community rooted in mentorship, teamwork, and musical achievement. The impact of his work continues to live on in the many students, performers, and educators who were inspired by his example.
In conversations with members of our current leadership, Jack often expressed his hope that the organization would continue to grow and serve future generations. We carry that responsibility forward with deep respect for the foundation he built and the legacy he entrusted to us.
As we mourn his passing, we also celebrate a life devoted to service, education, and the arts.
The Board of Directors of Spirit Performing Arts remains committed to continuing the mission he began, ensuring that young people have access to music, mentorship, and opportunities to perform at the highest level.
Jack Drury’s legacy will live on through every student we teach, every performance we present, and every life changed through the power of the arts.
