Join us for friendship, growth, and fun—where every voice matters and every story shines! Deaf Plus Adult Community celebrating its 8th year thrives as a deaf-centered program communicating exclusively in American Sign language. We serve adults with intellectual and/or developmental delays. This includes individuals with autism, behavior challenges, cerebral palsy, non-verbal and more.

Yesterday morning, we had some very special visitors from East Bay Regional Park!

A few park rangers stopped by and brought a LIVE SNAKE!!! EEEKKKKK! Some of our consumers were brave enough to get a closer look, while others were perfectly happy watching from a safe distance.. haha!

The rangers also showed us frog bones, shed snake skins, a baby toad, and other fascinating nature items. They talked about local wildlife, shared some history, and taught everyone about amphibians and the important role they play in nature.

Many of our consumers really enjoyed the presentation, asked lots of questions, and were excited to learn something new. It was definitely a fun, learning experience!

At DPAC, it’s all about CHOICE, creativity, and having FUN!
Sometimes our consumers aren’t feeling the classes we offer—and guess what? That’s totally okay! At DPAC, our amazing staff empower each consumer to choose activities they enjoy and build on their unique strengths.

In the first video, one of our staff noticed how much this consumer LOVES making beautiful bracelets—and wow, the talent speaks for itself! They’re able to create these awesome pieces independently, and we love seeing their creativity shine.

And then… there were COOKIES! Because who doesn’t love food?! Our consumers had a blast baking pumpkin chocolate chip oatmeal cookies together. Mixing, baking…and, of course, enjoying the final product!

We only wish social media had a “smell” button because the aroma coming from the kitchen was AMAZING!

At DPAC, meaningful days can look different for everyone—and that’s exactly the point. Choice. Independence. Creativity. And plenty of fun along the way!

Our DPAC crew took a trip out to Golfland for a day full of friendly competition. 💚 From sinking putts to celebrating every hole-in-one (or almost!), we're excited to enjoy time together out in the community. Thanks to the folks at Golfland for extending a warm welcome to our group!
