Alhamdulillah, our first Clean Streets. Strong Community cleanup was a success! Thank you to every volunteer, sponsor, and community member who showed up to serve our neighborhood.

إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ 🤲🏾

Today we remember and honor the remarkable life of Sister Cynthia Brown, a true pioneer, public servant, and devoted member of our Muslim community.

Her legacy stretches far beyond titles. She broke barriers as the first Muslim Municipal Clerk in New Jersey, served the City of East Orange East Orange City Hall with distinction for decades, and dedicated her life to justice, integrity, and service. She was also a beloved member of Masjid As’Haabul Yameen Masjid As-Habul Yameen, where her faith guided her commitment to helping others and board executive of CAIR New Jersey

Sister Cynthia showed us that leadership is rooted in humility, excellence, and unwavering service to both Allah and humanity. Her impact will continue to inspire generations of public servants, community leaders, and young Muslims.

May Allah ﷻ forgive her shortcomings, expand and illuminate her grave, grant her family patience and comfort, and admit her into Jannatul Firdaus among the righteous.

Congratulations to Councilwoman Amina Bey Amina Bey and her family on the ceremonial street naming honoring her mother, Mother Fredrica Bey. Now permanently recognized as “Fredrica Bey Way” at the intersection of Lincoln Park and Mayor Kenneth A. Gibson Boulevard, this dedication stands as a lasting tribute to a woman whose life of love, service, and community impact touched generations of Newarkers. The ceremony was sponsored by Councilwoman Amina Bey and officially recognized by the City of Newark.

May this street sign serve as a reminder that the greatest legacies are built through service, faith, family, and unwavering commitment to community.

As co-chair of NJ Deparment of Children and Families Fatherhood Engagement Committee, I believe New Jersey leave laws may provide paid time to bond with a new child, care for a loved one and protect your job… but the rules can be confusing.

Good Deeds was honored to participate in the Council of Imams in New Jersey Unity Ta’leem hosted by Masjid Muhammad - Newark Masjid Muhammad-Newark and Masjid Waarith ud Deen Masjid Waarith Ud Deen.

Centered on the theme “Cooperation and the Emerging Leadership,” the gathering brought together community leaders and attendees for meaningful dialogue on building stronger institutions, developing future leaders, and working together for the betterment of our communities.

We’re especially proud of our founding member, Faheem Murano M A Y O, for representing Good Deeds as one of the featured presenters. His contribution reflects our commitment to cultivating leaders who serve with knowledge, humility, and purpose.
