Standing on our word to support the doula community.

Q: What does AAVE Doula Collaborative hospital coverage mean for doulas?

A: Our hospital partnerships allows doulas to come in under AAVE Doula and work with families directly during pregnancy, postpartum and labor.

Why? We often hear doulas complain about how hard it is to obtain births which is needed for most organizations to become a Certified Doula. The purpose of allowing doulas to attend births under us is to:
1) Reduce the stress of finding qualified births
2) Reduce the cost associated with finding births and or marketing your services for free to secure births
3) Increase your possibilities of reaching 3 births in 1 day vs over weeks or months
4) Learn how to support hospital births under experienced mentors and talk with medical staff
5) Reduce fear and anxiety associated with stepping into hospitals for the first time

Your journey to becoming a certified doula shouldn't be hard. Our team is very familiar with the highs and lows of starting up a doula career, you don't need to navigate any step alone.

Yesterday we held our AAVE Doula Collaborative Teen4Teen Doula training interest meeting. We were surprised to see how many more males were interested in this training this go around.
-
We asked them how did their parents/guardians feel about them enrolling and they replied they were excited with them. By the end of the interest meeting, you seen parents waiting outside for their babies. As much as we can thank the students for their interest, we also have to thank the parents for supporting them as well as KIPP New Jersey Public Schools for entrusting us to roll this out AGAIN!

Shout out to our infamous 1st cohort. Hoodie season is loading and they gifted the AAVE Doula leadership team hoodies at their graduation. I love this for us especially the anemic girlies.

Walking into the 4th quarter of 2026 never looked so good. AAVE Doula Collaborative is officially one of the new approved Medicaid doula trainings.

What does this means? Anyone who has or will take an AAVE doula training such as Perinatal Health Leader or Teen4Teen training will be eligible to apply for NJ Medicaid Doula provider status and serve NJ FamilyCare clients.

Giving a BIG thanks to NJ Department of Health & NJ DHS for accepting our training. Are you ready doulas? ✨️ 🤗
