Holy One, here we are, your people. Whatever gift we may bring, gather us around the table to taste and see that life in you is so very, very good. Amen.

Isn’t communion a reminder that, though we can easily do this life on our own, it’s just so much better when we do it together? A dance of giving and receiving, receiving and giving?

Prayer
Jesus, forgive us for building things in your name and leaving you on the porch. Give us courage to open the door, make room at the table, and know you again. Amen.

Jesus wants to sit down, break bread, and look us in the eye. But to share a meal with Jesus, we have to get up, throw wide the doors, and risk letting Jesus rearrange things from the inside out.

Together, through the power of love, we can aim towards reforming our community instead of living in a constant state of polarization. Change starts with us, in our hearts, and with a belief that genuine kindness can make a difference!

Author of our stories, give us eyes to read between the lines and ears to hear beyond the details, that we might know the great gift of your grace.
