Today, we join Delaware Capitol Police and FOP Lodge 11 in sharing our sincere thanks to the Delaware General Assembly for approving a resolution that shines a light on an issue that impacts first responders across our nationโsu***de awareness and prevention.
House Concurrent Resolution recognizes:
๐ September 24, 2026 โ Firefighter Su***de Awareness Day
๐ September 25, 2026 โ Emergency Medical Services Su***de Awareness Day
๐ฎ September 26, 2026 โ Law Enforcement Officer Su***de Awareness Day
๐ September 27, 2026 โ Telecommunications Su***de Awareness Day
These days serve as a solemn reminder of the brave men and women we have lostโnot in the line of duty, but to battles that often remained unseen.
First responders dedicate their lives to protecting and serving others, frequently witnessing trauma, tragedy, and human suffering. The reality is that su***des among first responders continue to outpace line-of-duty deaths, highlighting the critical importance of mental health awareness, support, and access to resources.
The Delaware Capitol Police stand alongside our fellow firefighters, EMS personnel, law enforcement officers, and telecommunications professionals in honoring those we have lost and supporting those who continue to serve.
