Happy Friday and Welcome to Day 6 of Blackout week!
Day 6 of Blackout week is “Buy a stock in a Black-Owned company”.
We chose to highlight these publicly traded companies:
Urban One, Inc. (UONEK)
The largest Black-owned broadcasting company in the U.S. that operates different radio stations and TV One. Founded by Cathy Hughes and went public in 1999.
Axsome Therapeutics (AXSM)
A biopharmaceutical company that is developing new therapies for disorders affecting the central nervous system and plans to file two new drug applications this year with the FDA for major depressive disorder (MDD) and acute treatment of migraines. The founder, CEO, and chairman is Herriot Tabuteau, MD.
American Shared Hospital Services (AMS)
A healthcare company that leases medical equipment to hospitals and medical centers. This company was founded by Dr. Ernest A. Bates, M.D in 1977.
Citizens Bancshares Corporation (CZBS)
This is a financial institution that is the holding company of Citizens Trust Bank, which is the largest and oldest Black-owned bank in the United States. They have been operating for about a century and are increasing in profit. Now is time to buy stock here and receive generous annual dividends!
Carver Bancorp (CARV)
A bank based in Harlem, New York and founded by the famous Black scientist George Washington Carver in 1948. Their profit is expected to rise this year so try and become a part of the profit.
