Forest Hill Community Association The FHCA serves the residents of Forest Hill, a pre-war historic neighborhood in Newark, New Jersey.

The Forest Hill neighborhood, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990 and designated by the city of Newark as an historic district in the same year, is well described by noted city historian Charles Cummings, "Forest Hill, an architectural and residential jewel, lays to the east of Branch Brook Park, an Essex County park and the oldest county park in the United States. ll is one of Newark's most attractive and elegant neighborhoods. It was developed between 1880 and 1925 through the efforts of three great families, the Hellers, the Ballantines and the Clarks. These families lived here, built their great homes here, and served as captains of nineteenth century industrial Newark". As the neighborhood continues to prosper with its rich mix of cultural, economic and racial diversity, we look forward to an exciting future for our association, Forest Hill and the resurgent city of Newark in which we live.
