Thank you, Governor Matt Meyer, for proclaiming October 6–12, 2026, National Physician Associates Week in Delaware and recognizing the contributions PAs make to the health of our communities.

Every day, Delaware PAs bring expertise, compassion, and dedication to patients across our state. This proclamation honors that work and the many ways PAs expand access to care, support our healthcare teams, and make a difference in patients’ lives.

🏆 Small state. Big wins. A Triple Crown worth celebrating!

This PA Week, DAPA is celebrating a historic legislative season and national recognition from AAPA as one of its “Triple Crown” advocacy winners! Congratulations to Maine Academy of Physician Associates - MEAPA and Iowa PA Society, who share this honor with Delaware. Together, we’re helping move the PA profession forward! 💙💛

With HB 325 signed into law, Delaware officially adopted the Physician Associate title, modernized PA practice, and established a pathway to independent practice authority for eligible, experienced PAs. These advances support our profession and strengthen our ability to serve Delaware’s communities.

A special thank-you to bill sponsors Rep. Kendra Johnson, Rep. Alonna Berry, and Senator Nicole Poore, the supporting legislators, and Governor Matt Meyer for helping make this progress possible. Big day for PAs in the state of DE!

This Act updates Delaware law by changing the title “physician assistant” to “physician associate” throughout the Delaware Code. It also creates a pathway for experienced physician associates with more than 6,000 post-graduate clinical hours to apply for independent practice authority through the Regulatory Council for Physician Associates.
