GROW AND GLOW: KITCHEN GARDENS
Saturday, June 20; 10:30am to 12pm
For all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Bring the vibrant flavors of garden herbs into your kitchen year-round and harvest them fresh for cooking! We’ll dig into the essentials of indoor cultivation and, whether you're a culinary enthusiast or a beginner gardener, you’ll leave with the confidence to maintain a thriving, aromatic kitchen garden that’s as beautiful as it is delicious. We'll visit our herb garden and meet some favorites like basil, cilantro, oregano, thyme, parsley, chives, dill, lemon balm and sage. Each participant will roll up their sleeves to pot their own personalized herb garden.

Led by Roxana Marroquin, Rutgers Cooperative Extension Program Associate, Agriculture & Natural Resources.

Fee: $15 per person

We had a great day at garden club today! Youth and families are welcome to join us every Thursday from 4:00 to 5:00 p.m..

The baby raspberry bush that our young gardeners planted last year has grown bigger -- and now it's flowering for the first time! Our community garden meets at 4PM every Thursday, and kids and teens of all ages are welcome, as are parents. 🌱

We had the BEST time this Saturday in Ess*x County Branch Brook Park with our 4-H Birdwatching Club! 🦆🔭

Youth got to explore the park on a beautiful day and ID some of the local birds!

Interested in a future in animal science? 🐾🍀 Join the National 4-H Animal Science Career Night on June 18, 2026 from 7:00–8:30 PM EST via Zoom!

Youth will hear from professionals in the animal science industry as they share career insights, experiences, and advice for exploring animal-related career paths. Featured speakers include Dr. Mark Hoge from Western Illinois University and Mr. Kevin Robinson from Sea World San Diego.

Open to youth in grades 7–13, ages 12–19. Youth do not need to be a 4-H member to participate, and classes and clubs are encouraged to join!
