A new investment in food access, wellness, and Newark’s future. This week, we celebrated the ribbon cutting of Harvest: An Farm to Community Center at 46 Halsey Street.

This innovative, community-focused space expands access to fresh food, nutrition education, wellness resources, and support for local growers and food entrepreneurs. Located inside the historic . Building, Harvest unites healthcare, agriculture, education, and small business support—all under one roof. From cooking and nutrition education to SNAP and other social service support , commercial kitchen access, and food entrepreneur incubation, Harvest is a true hub for health and opportunity.

We’re proud to have played a role by supporting plans for community-based programming, small business support, and connecting the team with Newark’s real estate community and partners to help bring this vision to life. Harvest exemplifies Newark Alliance’s commitment to strengthening neighborhoods, supporting entrepreneurs, and expanding access to resources.

Choose New Jersey, supported by and the , is offering $5 million in grants to help New Jersey communities host public fan experiences and events for the FIFA World Cup 2026™ this summer! ⚽🌎
This initiative aims to bring the World Cup excitement to every corner of New Jersey.

They are now accepting applications for two event categories:

✅️Large-Scale, Multi-Day, Multi-Location Events: Create major fan zones across the state. (Deadline: April 13, 2026)

✅️Smaller Statewide Initiatives: Regional fairs, festivals, watch parties, and more. (Deadline: April 16, 2026)

🚨 Invest Newark’s Ready, Set, Goal: World Cup Business Training Series Starts Tomorrow!🚨

As Newark gears up to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup™, local businesses have an opportunity to shine and boost the city’s economy! ⚽🌍

The Ready, Set, Goal Business Support Grant from our partners at offers up to $75,000 in grants—up to $5,000 each—to approximately 15 Newark-based businesses. Use the funds for marketing, events, equipment, inventory, and more to attract visitors and serve your community during this global event.

To make the most of this opportunity, all grant recipients must attend at least one of four targeted training sessions covering:
✅ Hosting successful events
✅ FIFA restrictions & guidelines
✅ Digital marketing tools
✅ And more!

Grant funds are provided upfront, with required documentation of expenses.

🏢 Businesses must be located in Newark, NJ (home-based businesses included).

North2Shore is coming BACK to Newark! 🚨

Summer in Newark is all about block parties and festivals! Each year, North2Shore kicks off the season with unforgettable music, comedy, and community vibes!

Running from June 13–28, this year’s festival will feature an incredible lineup of internationally acclaimed artists like Janelle Monáe, comedy stars like Iliza Shlesinger and Zarna Garg, and blues legend Joe Bonamassa, and MORE. 🎶🎤

And it’s not just about the headliners; the main event is the free community programming spotlighting NJ-based artists.

This year, Newark Alliance is proud to partner with North2Shore as it expands its support for Newark’s vibrant creative communities. Through new collaborations with local arts organizations, including the Newark Arts Council, the City’s Arts and Education District, and Newark Alliance, North2Shore will be regranting funds to community groups, helping to showcase Newark’s rich cultural scene throughout the summer.

🌍⚽ Take your shot and help Newark Welcome the World! ⚽🌍

Grant Applications now open!

FIFA World Cup 2026™ is coming to the NY/NJ region, and the games will be right here in New Jersey! This is our moment to shine and (re)introduce Newark to the world!

We’re calling on ALL Newark-based community members, businesses, and organizations to apply for a microgrant of $500-$2,500 to host public watch parties, soccer-themed events, cultural celebrations, community gatherings, educational programs, and more — all around the official FIFA matches!

📅 Event Dates: June 27 – July 19, 2026
⏳ Application Closes: April 1, 2026
🎉 Notifications: May 1, 2026

Important Notes:
✅️ Cycle 2 is still open for applications (Applications close: March 15th. Event Dates: May 1-June 12, 2026). This cycle is not World Cup specific.
