Calling all mentor firms! 🗣

ACE Mentor Program of NJ is calling on firms to host students for the 2026 Summer Work Experience! 🌞 Last year students got a chance to experience a variety of roles during their time at DIG Architecture, Torcon, Inc., and Turner Construction Company!

Summer Work Experiences, which include internships and externships, are an essential part of the ACE program to excite young people about opportunities in the construction space. Each summer, high school students are eligible to apply for a work experience with one of the participating firms. 👷‍♀️ Typically, students will work a total of 80 hours between June and the end of August. Either two 40-hour weeks or four 20-hour weeks with reimbursement available for the host firm.

If you're interested in providing hands-on experience that shapes the future of AEC professionals, please reach out with your information ASAP. 📟 Your support makes a lasting impact on our students' careers and our industry's future! 🏗

The culmination of a year filled with sessions, site visits, hands-on learning, collaboration, and the passionate curiosity that drives the future of our industry. Earlier this month, ACE Mentor Program of New Jersey teams proudly presented their final projects at the NJIT Hillier College of Architecture and Design. 👷‍♂️

Congratulations to all the students of ACE Mentor Program of New Jersey’s Hightstown High School Team, as well as local mentor firm KSS Architects, Team Leader Hunter Grimm, and all the dedicated mentors who shared their knowledge, guidance, and unwavering support throughout the year. 💛

Last week ACE Mentor Program of NJ Middlesex Team Mentor Alexander Alon from Johnson Controls attended the final session of the year with the team from John P. Stevens High School, who recently earned First Place at the 2026 CIRT National Design + Construction Competition for their Net Zero Data Center! 🥇

He shared a few photos from the afternoon, which was made even more meaningful by reconnecting with several ACE alumni from past years at JP Stevens. Seeing them now representing universities like Virginia Tech, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, NJIT, and Rutgers University, and some even beginning their professional careers, including one alum now working at Michael Baker International. Incredibly rewarding and it served as a powerful reminder that mentorship truly makes a lasting impact. 🌠

Best of luck to the Class of 2026 as you embark on your next chapter and be sure to stay in touch!
