Parklets are back—and Newark’s streets are going to be a vibe! 🌿☀️

The Newark Downtown District is bringing back its seasonal Parklet Program for 2026, transforming select parking spaces along Halsey Street into vibrant outdoor seating areas that create more room for connection, community, and commerce.

Participating businesses receive:

✔️ An NDD-installed elevated wooden parklet platform or pop-up parklet

✔️ Outdoor seating and tables

✔️ Umbrellas and streetscape planters

If you’re a business along Halsey Street looking to activate your storefront and be part of a more dynamic downtown experience, now is the time to apply.
