The Newark LGBTQ Community Center is a community-based organization committed to providing safe space, programs, and services that support the well-being of the LGBTQ community and our allies in the Newark, New Jersey area. We also offer spaces for rent for events, parties, weddings, and meetings.

On Friday January 30th the Newark LGBTQ Community Center will join communities across the country in the ICE Out nationwide shutdown.

We are calling for an end to the violence, fear, and family separation inflicted by ICE agents in our communities. Our communities deserve dignity, safety, and the right to live without fear.

Our liberation is interconnected. When immigrant/migrant communities are targeted, LGBTQ+ communities are impacted too. The Newark LGBTQ Community Center advocates for a world where everyone belongs, everyone is protected, and everyone can live freely.

How you can support:
• Check out: https://nationalshutdown.org
• Participate in the shutdown by pausing work, school on January 30th, 2026
• Support organizations that aide immigrant/migrant communities through donations or volunteering
• Contact elected officials and advocate for humane immigration policies
• Practice community care—check in, share resources, and show up for one another
