Maybe they made a difficult subject finally make sense. Perhaps they saw potential in you before you saw it yourself. Or maybe they simply made their classroom somewhere you wanted to be.

Teachers rarely get to see the full impact of what they do. The lessons, encouragement and confidence they give can stay with someone for years — sometimes for a lifetime.

So, on World Teachers’ Day, we want to say thank you.

Today, Armenia celebrates 35 years of independence.

For EFI, it’s also an opportunity to celebrate a partnership that has been growing for more than six years.

Working alongside the Center for Behavioral Decisions and its School for Economic Decisions, we’re helping expand access to practical economic and financial education for young people across Armenia.

More than 4,500 students have participated in the Tatevatsi Economics Olympiad since 2023, with over 300 schools engaging with EFI-supported initiatives. The work also extends beyond students, helping strengthen economic understanding through education, professional training and long-term partnerships.

Behind those numbers are young people developing the confidence to think critically, solve problems and make informed decisions about their futures.

We’re proud to work alongside our partners in Armenia — and look forward to everything still to come.

Making economics education accessible means making resources available in languages that students, teachers and readers can engage with confidently.

This updated Russian-language edition of Common Sense Economics provides an accessible introduction to key economic ideas, including markets, incentives, entrepreneurship, trade, government policy and economic growth.

75 teachers. 40 hours of training. And a full academic year of continued learning and support. 📚

But what does that experience actually mean for the teachers taking part?

We asked teachers in North Macedonia to share their thoughts. 🎥

From gaining new knowledge and practical teaching approaches to exchanging ideas with fellow educators, their experiences show why investing in teachers can have an impact far beyond a single training program.

Through EFI's Teacher Training Program, delivered in partnership with the Liberal Alternative Institute, teachers are supported to make economics more engaging, practical and relevant for their students.

And the impact doesn't stop with the 75 teachers taking part. What they learn travels back into their classrooms, reaching students year after year.

A huge thank you to the teachers who shared their experiences and to the Liberal Alternative Institute for their continued partnership.
