COOKIEE KAWAII ANNOUNCED AS 2026 HEADLINER!!
Newark Pride is thrilled to announce viral music sensation Cookiee Kawaii as the official headliner for the 2026 Newark Pride Festival.
Known for her high-energy performances, Jersey Club anthems, and global hit “Vibe (If I Back It Up),” Cookiee Kawaii has become one of New Jersey’s most influential contemporary artists, bringing Newark and Jersey Club culture to audiences worldwide.
Festival organizers also hinted at a special tribute honoring the late DJ Melodious, whose impact on Black q***r nightlife, ballroom culture, and the regional club music scene remains deeply felt throughout New Jersey and beyond.

CELEBRITY HOSTS ANNOUNCED
The 2026 Newark Pride Festival will be hosted by acclaimed actor Rodney Chester, best known for his groundbreaking role as Alex Kirby on the iconic LGBTQ+ television series “Noah’s Arc,” alongside ballroom legend Tyra Old Navy, one of New Jersey’s most celebrated and influential figures in ballroom culture.
Together, the hosts represent the intersection of legacy, visibility, artistry, and Black q***r excellence that continues to define Newark Pride.
As Newark Pride enters its 21st year, the organization remains committed to uplifting LGBTQ+ communities through advocacy, cultural celebration, education, wellness initiatives, and year-round community engagement.
“Our Bodies. Our Stories. Our Power!” is more than a theme—it is a movement rooted in truth, resilience, remembrance, and joy.
