Laborers' Local 472 Based in Newark, NJ, our Union provides skilled Laborers to contractors across Northern NJ.

Established in 1932, Heavy and General Construction Laborers Local 472 serves 12 counties in Northern New Jersey, providing our signatory contractors with a skilled, safe, and highly trained workforce. We are one of the unions primarily involved in the heavy construction of infrastructure like highways, bridges, tunnels, sewers, and pipelines. Our 7,000-plus member local is an affiliate of the Lab

At our June Membership Meeting last night, we presented our annual Local 472 S.E.T. Scholarship Awards to two very impressive and well deserving high school seniors:
Weronika Malinoskwi and Abran Martinez!

We had a great turnout with a lot of member engagement, thank you to all who attended! (hope you enjoyed the hot dog, t-shirt, and raffles)

In my report I discussed some key topics such as the Gateway Tunnel Project, May-Day, National Workzone Awareness & Apprenticeship Weeks, NABTU, and that May is Mental Health Awareness Month.

Laborers Lean, is offering a great laborer to laborer webinar on May 12th & 13th for those that would like to learn more about mental health awareness.

Please take a moment to watch this video about our fight to restore funding at the Gateway Project which we featured last night for the first time.
I would like to thank all the members who showed up and rallied making their voices heard to get the funding restored!
I hope to see you all at our next Membership Meeting, Monday April 6th at 7:00 P.M. at the Newark Hall where we will offer Free Health Screenings.

Brothers & Sisters, thank you to those who attended and made their voices heard at our recent rallies for the Gateway Tunnel! We will continue to protect and fight for what is ours! This historic tunnel will get built and done by union laborers!
Thank you to Governor Mikie Sherrill, LIUNA General President Brent Booker, & LIUNA VP & Eastern Regional Manager Mike Hellstrom for their show of solidarity and unwavering support as we continue to stand tall and fight back!
