Today, Help in Children Education Program- Sierra Leone (HICEP-SL) hosted an amazing program for our beneficiary where we were able to distribute books, writing materials, uniform, and shoes to a great number of children!

In celebration of this success, we are excited to announce the launch of our new operation, GIFT A CHILD AN EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL. The aim of this campaign is to make books, and all other educational materials available to thousands of children in various communities across the globe. We welcome you to join us by supporting as we strive to provide books and educational materials for as many children as possible.

HICEP-SL is a charity organization founded by Mr Andrew Tucker who had lived the hazards of war in Sierra Leone and knew what it means to lack the basic necessities of life. Mr Tucker saw that even after two decades, the effects of war were still present with people. There were still inequalities in development aid with those in the provinces always getting less than those in the big cities. In 2016 Mr Andrew Tucker started giving small gifts to vulnerable persons like children with handicap, widows and orphans. The idea of forming a Non-profit organization started to take shape until he later travelled to the United States of America where he worked with his wife, Mrs Maria Tucker, to put the concept of HICEP into proper perspective. Eventually, the CBO HICEP-SL was founded in 2016. However, HICEP remained an individual venture funded by Mr Andrew Tucker and his wife Maria Tucker until they were joined by other like-minded persons ( Mustapha Kai Swaray, Momoh Rogers, Edward B Tucker) who helped to formally register HICEP as a Non-profit with the Bo District and Bo City Councils in Sierra Leone in March 2021, independent and inclusive of all faiths and cultures, striving for a nation that advances children’s rights and equality for all.

We have already started to transform our vision into action by supporting children in two schools in Gondama and one school in Bo with school materials, including uniform and shoes. This is a gradual and developing process and we intend to embark on fund raising drive nationally and internationally to help increase our target area and population to reach less privileged children and their communities in Bo district and other districts.
