Claim. Warrant. Impact. Weighing. Long ago, the four elements lived together in arguments. Then, everything changed when debaters only made unsupported claims. Only the Avatar, master of all four elements, could argue them, but when debate needed them most, they vanished.

A hundred years passed, and now the Delaware Debate Society will be holding an Avatar: The Last Airbender-themed mock debate.

What a fantastic weekend for us at TCNJ! We had tons of fun getting to test some new cases and meet/debate against a number of other fantastic teams. Though it was slightly less fun to drive home in the pouring rain and and only get 3 hours of sleep, Saturday made up for it! Lily, Ricky, John, Joe, Madison, and Maxum received Novice Speaker Awards, and Maxum and Madison were named Novice Co-Champions!!! Special thank you to our awesome coaches, Mike & Asad, and Moises for judging, and to Lauryn for keeping track of our tournament record. Great job team—we are so proud of you! Thank you TCNJ for a fabulous weekend!

Thank you all for coming out to the Involvement Fair tonight! It was great to see some old faces, and new ones as well! We’re looking forward to kicking off the semester next Tuesday (2/14) in Memorial Hall 122 (meeting time TBD). More info to come!

With finals week in full-swing, we wish all of you good luck on you exams!

Earlier this month, our board held a Friendsgiving (pictured) followed by a club dinner. It was a great end to an awesome fall semester and an even better way to relieve some stress before the craziness of this week!

Another great lesson taught by Coach Mike! Tonight, we went over the fundamentals of organization and learned how to create and understand flow charts. We finished up with a fun drill incorporating some of the skills we learned. Thanks to everyone who came out! To those we missed, have a great fall break! We can’t wait to have you all back to wrap up the semester!🦃🍁🧣

Over the weekend, we traveled to Fordham University and competed with teams up and down the East Coast.

Congratulations to everyone for their amazing performances and a special congratulations to our President Megan Smith winning a Speaker’s Award.
