HS accomplishes this by engaging in one or more of the following activities:
1. Promoting public awareness of and advocacy for this mission and this historic site;
2. Securing funds to support and enhance the restoration, preservation, maintenance, and operation of this historic site;
3. Ensuring financial support for improvements that enhance activities, programs, and contents of this historic home and grounds;
4. Supporting the development of historical and horticultural interpretation and public programs to promote state and local history as well as heritage and ecotourism;
5. Forming partnerships with organizations that can help and benefit from this outstanding historical and cultural treasure.
6. Supporting the development of historical interpretation -- through rigorous research -- that illuminates life today by revealing and understanding the stories of people who lived, visited, worked, died, and fought for independence at the site.
