Clinton Hill, your home should be a safe place to live, and we want to help you keep it that way.

Join us for the Healthy Homes Expo this Saturday, August 22, from 10am to 2pm at 695 Bergen St (parking available). It's a free, one-stop day to connect with the people and resources that make for a healthier home.

Come through for:

Workshops on lead, mold, asthma triggers, and indoor air quality
Home repair, energy efficiency, and utility assistance resources
Tenant and homeowner rights, plus small landlord support
A Fire Department exhibition, a DJ, face painting, and a bouncy house for the kids

And thanks to our partners at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, we'll be handing out free school uniforms, first come first serve, so come early.

Residents, seniors, families, renters, homeowners, and small landlords, this day is for all of us. Bring your neighbors and pull up.

📣📣📣Clinton Hill Community Action we are investing in the next generation of community development leaders 👨🏿‍🏫. The inaugural cohort of our leadership development program NEXT UP crossed the finish line after four months, two sessions per month, and a host of dynamic speakers, deep reflection, and training 🎓. These leaders are ready to continue growing in the field. Congratulations Ahmad Jones, Darius Smith, and Janise Afolo🎖!

Is your landlord ignoring repairs? Not sure if your home is safe? Our Housing Justice Action Team is bringing the people who know. We're breaking down rent control with Tammi Pitts, the Habitability Bond Fund with Yanaris Gomez, and Healthy Homes (mold, lead, asthma and more) with Ketlen Alsbrook, Director of the Department of Health and Wellness.

You'll leave knowing your rights, who to call, and what to have ready when housing conditions turn unsafe. Free and open to all.

Tackling lead and housing hazards. Sit in on a Housing and Environmental Justice workshop, connect with Volunteer Lawyers for Justice and the Newark Housing Authority, and grab CPR demos, blood pressure checks, and weatherization application help. For the whole family: school uniforms, face painting, raffles, a bouncy house, and free food. Free. Rain date August 29.

Clinton Hill's Nourish to Flourish Farmers' Market is back this Saturday, and we're bringing everything to one block: fresh food, neighborhood resources, local vendors and tablers, family-friendly fun, and free bookbags for the kids while supplies last.
