Seven Decades: How We Evolved to Live Longer

Seven Decades traces the story of how humans went from short, precarious lives to the unprecedented longevity of the modern era. The book emerged from a desire to explain the evolutionary roots of our extended lifespans and to explore what that longevity means for our health, purpose, and social lives today. Inspired by the striking contrast between the lives of people in small-scale, subsistence societies and those in modern industrial nations—especially in how they age, remain active, and maintain social ties late in life—Seven Decades offers a compelling narrative of how our long lives came to be—and how we might live them better.

“For the final day of this extra long Skepticism Month on AIPT Comics, Michael Compton looks at some skeptical principles that can help us all year long when surveying our current media landscape.”
