• Celebrating last November’s unforgettable 90th Anniversary Family Day at Lycée Français de New York! ✨🇫🇷

We were honored to be commissioned by the Lycée Français de New York Cultural Center to create a series of site-specific Soundpainting performances inspired by the memories and stories of Lycée alumni. Under the direction of Artistic Director Leese Walker, Strike Anywhere transformed these personal histories into four live performances that unfolded throughout the campus—from the Grand Escalier (Main Staircase) to the Auditorium of Le Centre Culturel.

A special thank you to Florence Gatté, Director of Cultural Events, and to Valentine Grammont and Olivier Imbert, Associate Directors of Alumni Communities and Historical Stewardship, for their support in bringing this project to life.

Interested in bringing a custom site-specific performance to your school, museum, corporate, or community event? Strike Anywhere specializes in bespoke theatrical experiences designed around your people, place, and stories—and we also offer bilingual French-English programming. Strike Anywhere’s BLOOM 28th Anniversary was more than a celebration — it was proof of what’s possible when community shows up with open hearts. 🌸✨

Before the doors even opened, we had already surpassed our goal, raising $5,100 in donations — plus additional support through raffle sales, merch, and so much generosity throughout the evening. But the real magic can’t be measured in numbers.
The joy and camaraderie in the space spoke to the genuine and lasting impact Strike Anywhere has made over the years. That is what BLOOM was truly about.

Deepest gratitude to SA Board President Cynara Charles-Pierre and the amazing New York Times team for hosting. Of course, the night would not have been possible without the immense care and behind-the-scenes work of the SA Performance Ensemble, senior staff members Leese Walker, Amanda Hinkle-Wallace and November Christine, and Board Members Jonathan Poplack and Sonnet Takahisa. From outreach and event production to food donations, raffle prizes, livestream support, and countless unseen details — BLOOM was truly a collective labor of love.

To everyone who donated, attended, performed, volunteered, tuned in, bought raffle tickets, or simply shared in the joy: thank you for helping Strike Anywhere continue to bloom after 28 years! 🌱🎭

*Special thanks to NYT photographer Zack Caplan and videographer Zan Wang for capturing this special evening. 💫

Some reunions feel less like looking back and more like coming home. 💕

Artistic Director Leese Walker, guitarist and music director Rolf Sturm, and flautist Michel Gentile were honored to share the (tiny) stage once again with SA alumna Donna Bouthillier at BAX/Brooklyn Arts Exchange for this special evening of 10 short, distinct dance works, each created within the intimate confines of a 4 ft × 4 ft elevated stage. 🕺🏽🎭

Co-produced by 10 Tiny Dances / Connecticut College.

EDUCATION RESIDENCY ✨ was thrilled to collaborate with Susanna Stahlmann (Teaching Artist) for a Strike Anywhere residency at Cooperative Arts and Humanities High School in New Haven 🎭

Alongside teacher Sumiah Gay, we explored one central question: How does an actor make vocal choices to convey objectives and tactics?

Working on “The Day the Internet Died” by Jason Pizzarello (), students dove into active verbs and specificity, returning again and again to what makes acting come alive: clear choices, deep listening, and responsiveness in the moment. The shift from saying lines to playing actions is always where things start to click.

Grateful for the opportunity to share our work with curious young actors—and to partner with the Arthur Miller Foundation in supporting this work.
