On August 1st, the Swiss community came together from near and far to celebrate our Swiss traditions with family and friends again at the Hudson.

It was a day filled with camaraderie, sunshine, Swiss traditional food and wine. There was something for everyone.

The Swiss Benevolent Society NY was right there celebrating with their Swiss community. We invited people to visit our table, had a chance to catch up with old and new friends.

Calling all Jass Enthusiasts !

The and are seeking all experienced Jass players of the region for the friendly but competitive 2026 New York City Jass Tournament!

Date: It will be held at The Lavaux on Sunday, August 16th.
Time: Doors open at 9 a.m.; play starts at 10 a.m.

The format and rules are simple and straightforward:
▪ We play with French cards
▪ 4 rounds with 12 hands each
▪ Partners are randomly assigned for each round
▪ For the last round the four leading players to one table and the partners are assigned randomly; the other players are randomly assigned for the last round
▪ We only count the points without “Wiis”, “Stöck” but count 5 points for the last “Stich” resulting in a maximum of 157 point per round.
▪ We only play with the four regular "Trumpf" options; there will be no "Obe-Abe" (Top-Down), "Une-Ufe" (Bottom-Up), or Slalom
▪ The Scoreboard is updated after each round

There will be a buffet with cheese and charcuterie available throughout the tournament. Wine and other beverages can be purchased from the regular menu.

The entry fee is $30.00

A big crowd filled@lavaux_wine_bar to capacity on Tuesday watching the Switzerland – Colombia game and they were not disappointed. A tight game stayed tied 0-0 through overtime getting it to penalty kicks.

The was rocking when Ruben Vargas converted the final kick sending Switzerland to the Quarterfinals.

THE CELEBRATION CONTINUES!

The positive energy surrounding Team Switzerland has brought out the best in all of us.

We expect that Switzerland will move on to Round 16 and will play on Tuesday, July 7th at 4pm. And the lentsocietyny will be right there to continue to cheer on for another match!

The and hosted another Soccer Viewing Party on June 24th and it was a full house of
celebration!

The friends and their families cheered on Team Switzerland, who ultimately won against Canada 2:1.

The comradely amongst our Swiss community was amazing. We are planning to have another event on July 7th should Switzerland move on to the next round after next week.

We included some highlights of the day.

Switzerland took on Bosnia-Herzegovina at the World Cup this past Thursday. The and organized the viewing party where a big crowd of Swiss soccer fans gathered to take it all in live.

Thanks to our sponsors, a great all-around experience with special offers of food and drink as well as T-shirts created specifically for the event and raffle opportunities greeted the spectators.

They were not disappointed as the Swiss broke through late in the game to go on to win by the final score of 4-1. The Swiss TV station 20 minutes captured the excitement. Have a look or click link in bio.

JOIN US: CELEBRATE TEAM SWITZERLAND AT THE WORLD CUP

The in collaboration with will be holding a Swiss Soccer Viewing Party on June 18th and June 24th. The Swiss Team will be playing against Bosnia Herzegovina and Canada.

Attending both events are free. The Lavaux will be offering 2 specials for these events as well and you will receive an exclusively designed T-Shirt created by the SBS.

We strive to bring the Swiss Community together by organizing events. So, on May 28th in collaboration with we hosted a special event at .

This was the first time our members and friends were introduced Swiss Whisky.

Our host Dylan Stine did a fantastic job creating a very special and intimate tasting experience. He not only presented their exclusive whiskeys but also walked us through the production and history of how Seven Seals Whisky is created and what makes it so unique. The tasting was accompanied by some amazing charcuterie and cheese boards.

We would like to thank , especially Dylan Stine for giving us a tasting to remember. We would also like to thank Christian Stemmer and his team at for hosting us on that day.

We look forward to our upcoming events in June and August.

It's not too late to sign-up for the SBS Special Event on May 28th at 5pm.

The SBS will be hosting a Whisky tasting event with 🇨🇭Swiss whiskey provided by at The Lavaux, Swiss Wine and Fondue Bar.

In addition, we will be holding a raffle event and the prize will be 2 tickets to see Deep Purple and Kansas, live at Jones Beach on Wednesday, August 12th at 7:30 p.m.
