A summer season closing Hungarian folk music concert with Fészer Banda and a folk dance-house (táncház) made for children and adults alike. Join us as we practice the steps to the beats of our ancestors and enjoy the festive music by a talented ensemble of American Hungarian musicians.

Szézonzáró táncház gyermekeknek és felnőtteknek. Élő magyar népzenével, a Fészer Banda fogja kísérni a táncot. Lesz tánctanítás is, hogy kezdő táncosok is tudjanak egylépésben maradni!

Csatlakozzon hozzánk egy szórakoztató estére a Móricz Zsigmond Színházzal, akik életre keltik a "Milyenek a magyarok?" és a "Milyenek még a magyarok?" című szellemes, gondolatébresztő előadással, amelyben a Magyarország legnagyobb költőinek és íróinak, köztük Petőfi Sándornak, Radnóti Miklósnak, József Attilának, Ady Endrének és Lackfi Jánosnak a művei ihlettek.

A mélyen gyökerező és mindenki által azonosuló magyar identitás ünnepléseként az este nevetést, elmélkedést és rengeteg meglepetést ígér. Kik a magyarok? Feltalálók, álmodozók, forradalmárok és mesemondók nemzete? A kiadós ételek, a szenvedélyes viták és a felejthetetlen költészet szerelmesei? A humor, a zene, az irodalom és a néphagyományok segítségével ez az egyedülálló előadás a magyar nép mítoszait, ellentmondásait és maradandó szellemiségét tárja fel.

Join us for a lively and entertaining evening with Móricz Zsigmond Theater as they bring to life Milyenek a magyarok? and Milyenek még a magyarok?—a witty, thought-provoking production inspired by the works of Hungary’s greatest poets and writers, including Sándor Petőfi, Miklós Radnóti, Attila József, Endre Ady, and János Lackfi.

Who are the Hungarians? A nation of inventors, dreamers, revolutionaries, and storytellers? Lovers of hearty food, passionate debates, and unforgettable poetry? Through humor, music, literature, and folk traditions, this unique performance explores the myths, contradictions, and enduring spirit of the Hungarian people. A celebration of Hungarian identity that is both deeply rooted and universally relatable, the evening promises laughter, reflection, and plenty of surprises.

The performance is in English and in Hungarian.

Join Hungarian House and Vaclav Havel Center at 7pm on June 8th for our Taste of Central European Theater event for an evening of cabaret, puppetry, drama, dance, and music. This will preview many upcoming programs for this year's "Hope" themed Rehearsal for Truth Festival in honor of Vaclav Havel.

With support from the participating artists, this joint benefit fundraiser will help our organizations continue to bring exciting, educational, and thought provoking theater to our Yorkville stages and to our community audiences right in the heart of NYC's old Little Hungary, and the Czech and Slovak neighborhood in Yorkville.

Thank you to HUbart's Orsolya Antalóczy, Áron Kun, Blanka Molnár, Attila Bondyan, Anita Hornai, and Barbara Tatai for creating The Magic Cube and bringing modern Anglo-Hungarian theather to our stage! Néhány kép a ma esti érzelmileg inspirált táncszínházról, ami átlépte azt a gátot amit nehezen lehet megtenni a Pilinszky János írásaival amikor le van fordítva magyarról angolra. Amit a Feledi Project előadói bemutattak a közösségünknek az nyelvhatárokon túl is megérthető volt a Feledi János, Tóth Brigitta, Spala Korina, ès Trill Zsoltnak köszönhetően, a Tóth Mariann zongoraművész zenei kisérletével. Köszönjük a Liszt Intézetet, hogy ezt a programot megvalósíthattuk a NYi Magyar Ház színpadán egy igazán NYra jellemző vegyes, nemzetközi közönség előtt!
