We put together well-curated shows featuring rising area and sometimes out of town bands usually in developing DIY venues but sometimes established. Bitchin Bookings will help you book a show if:
1) You are a musician and/or artist creating work of quality; the essence of quality is difficult to describe, but we know it when we hear/see/smell/taste it. Usually involves some level of mastery but n
ot always.
2) Your bill includes at least one entity non-native to NYC.
3) You have friends, at least 10 of them.
4) You aren't a brat, and are willing to assist in promotion, since nobody gets paid.
5) You have reciprocated good show karma by either being present at past shows or a desire to support your billmates in the future. It is the law of the universe.
6) You demonstrate in some way/shape/form a serious investment in cultivating a renewed thriving community of believers in good art.
7) Whenever possible, you share - and always, respect what is shared - be it gear, goodwill, audiences
8) Overall, you are a considerate person or group of persons. Bitchin Bookings doesn't care if:
1) You are or are not championed by some hyped blog
2) You have a huge draw. We don't consider a show a success or failure based on the draw.
3) You don't have anything recorded yet. But if you don't, then you need to find a way for us to hear your stuff so we can figure out about the stuff we do care about.
4) You played with some hip band. But it doesn't factor in.
5) You're good looking. There is no existing ugly affirmative action out there, but there should be. Actually, there is - it's called being rich. PEACE.
